Beginners Sewing - Part 2 - Techniques

Designed for those with very little sewing experience, who want to learn the basics & get started.

Course Details

This class is designed for those with very little sewing experience, who want to learn some of the basics to get started with their own projects. It follows along nicely from our Beginners Sewing Class The first evening, we go over reading patterns, prepping fabrics, and cutting. This helps to understand certain instructions on your patterns and recognise if a fabric is appropriate for your project or not. The second evening we go over a few different sewing techniques and understand common phrases in your instructions. We will also put in an invisible zip! The final evening is more sewing techniques, focusing on finishes and different hems and facings. We do not make a finished item or garment in this class; we have a focus on techniques and you will make samples to refer back to. If you would prefer to make an item, please have a look at our Beginner Sewing Class. It is preferred for you to know how to set up a machine and sew a basic seam in order to go ahead with this class. If you need help with this, again please refer back to our Beginners Sewing Class.
