Course Details

This class is great for beginner and experienced sewers alike - if you have ever made a garment but the fit just didn't work, or if you have had trouble understanding the language used in the instructions then this class is for you! Learn all the tips to get started on the right foot for your next project Skills Covered will include: Taking accurate measurements Picking the right size for you, and how to split sizes Understanding garment ease and where to find it in your pattern The difference in wearing ease and style ease Typical pattern jargon Fabric prep Pattern markings and their relevance Common pattern adjustments and how to know if you need them This is a class where the focus is on theory and learning background information. Please bring a notebook but you will not need your sewing machine. You are welcome and encouraged to bring along any patterns you have that you are a little stuck with; if we have time at the end of class these questions are a great practical way to help understand some of the theory we have discussed.
